Debut release from the Oakland outsider synth trio GAZE. Comprised of Ned Meiners (Eat Skull, The Hospitals) Corey Hucks (California Priest, Timeblazers) and Collin McKelvey (Orbless, Liminal Planes), GAZE lays down weirdo synth lines that come and go aimlessly, drum machine beats that are not quite right, and vocal mess that is hardly distinguishable. Somehow it all comes together despite the seeming disparities. "Synth abuse" and "clown electronics" are several phrases overheard after live performances. The combination of three totally different approaches to creation have spawned some very interesting results. With another release already out on Hard Scrabble Amateurs, and one forthcoming on Zum, there is going to be chances to hear all of the different influences directing these warped minds.
